Lecturer Hayashi, together with Associate Professor Hiroki Sakaji (Hokkaido University) and Professor Naoki Watanabe (Keio University), organized a special session titled "Understanding New Markets by Data Science, Social Science, and Economics" on December 16, 2024, at the IEEE International Conference on Big Data 2024 (IEEE BigData2024).

The special session attracted many presenters and attendees, fostering active discussions on emerging technologies utilizing data and the potential for interdisciplinary data collaboration.

In the session's panel discussion, Dr. Ricardo Correa from the Federal Reserve Board (FRB) was invited as the main guest speaker. He provided insights into the use of third-party data and alternative data in the financial sector.

Additionally, panelists included Mr. Kaneda from the Bank of Japan, Professor Nishino from the University of Tokyo, and Professor Kurino from Keio University. Together, they engaged in an in-depth discussion on the theme "Unlocking and Sharing Missing Data Resources Across Disciplines," offering diverse perspectives on data sharing and utilization across fields.
