On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, Dr. Hayashi delivered an invited lecture at the CIGS 2025 Cross-Disciplinary Research Program on Economy and Society, hosted by the Canon Institute for Global Studies.

The title of his talk was “The Present and Future of Data Ecosystems Woven by Cross-disciplinary Data Exchange and Integration.”

In the lecture, he introduced recent research and practical challenges related to the growing importance of data across disciplines, focusing on how the exchange and integration of heterogeneous data can generate new insights and social value. He also discussed the development of data ecosystems that support such collaboration.

Following the presentation, active discussions were held with researchers and professionals from various sectors, addressing the technical and institutional challenges, as well as the future prospects, of cross-disciplinary data collaboration.
