Dr. Hayashi has been appointed Vice Chair of the Academic Collaboration Committee of the Data Society Alliance (DSA), a general incorporated association.
The Data Society Alliance works to realize a "Data Society" built on fair and free data distribution and utilization across fields, contributing to and collaborating on this goal both in Japan and internationally. Its activities include operating the DATA-EX collaborative service, promoting academic research and industry-academia-government collaboration that contributes to the data society, establishing operational and technical standards for organizations that support the data society, developing and operating certification systems for such organizations, researching and advancing legal issues, international collaboration, and standardization related to the data society, and making policy proposals to relevant government ministries while collaborating with related organizations.
As Vice Chair of the Academic Collaboration Committee, Dr. Hayashi will support industry-academia collaboration on data distribution and utilization, bringing the laboratory's research on data ecosystems to bear on real-world implementation and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
