The Special Interest Group on Data Collaboration (SIG-DC), a Type-2 Special Interest Group of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence, chaired by Dr. Hayashi and established in June 2025, was featured on the cover of the July 2026 issue of the Journal of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence.

The cover illustration was created through discussions with the illustrator, together with Dr. Yukihisa Fujita, the chief secretary of the research group. The illustration visually represents the concepts of “Data Collaboration,” ”Data Co-Creation”, and “Data Ecosystem” that our research group promotes.

At SIG-DC, we regard data not merely as an object of analysis, but as a social foundation through which diverse stakeholders collaborate to co-create value. Researchers and practitioners from a wide range of fields, including AI, data science, information science, and the social sciences, gather to discuss these topics. We will continue to promote interdisciplinary research exchange and community building to advance research on data collaboration.

Members of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence have likely already received the journal. We hope you will take a look and pay special attention to the cover.
