Dr. Hayashi will teach a session as part of "Data Spaces School," a joint program offered by the Koshizuka Laboratory at the University of Tokyo and the University of Tokyo Extension.

Data Spaces School is a hands-on program designed to help participants systematically build the skills needed to make use of data in the age of AI—from the fundamentals of data engineering and business applications of data, to technologies for handling data, AI-driven data utilization, and data governance. Through this progression, the program aims to develop people who can lead the design and construction of "data spaces" within their own companies and industries. It launched on October 8, 2026, with classes held at the University of Tokyo's Hongo Campus.

Dr. Hayashi will teach the third session of the course "New Business Opportunities Opened by Data Spaces" in an in-person format. His lecture, titled "Foundations and Hands-on Workshop for Creative Cross-Domain Data Collaboration," will introduce the concepts behind connecting data across different domains, followed by a workshop using a data-matching and visualization tool developed by the Hayashi Laboratory. Participants will have the opportunity to work through concrete exercises, such as taking stock of their own company's data and exploring possibilities for connecting it with data from other organizations.
